Ashmole Primary School

The school is part of the latest phase in a government-backed scheme which will see the creation of 49 new free schools across the country. The school, on Summit Way, provides 2,072 sq. ft of teaching space for 420 pupils aged four to eleven.
The works were separated into two phases – the school and the car park. The project was split into two phases to allow for occupation for the new school year with the rmeining car park works following on.
There was BIM Level 2 requirement for the project and DES worked with the client and end user to tailor their requirements to the project needs. The project was designed to BIM Level 2 with clash detection workshops and extensive use of the BIM model to de-risk the design.
The new primary school is based on the same site as Ashmole Academy and will have close links to the existing secondary academy, utilising staff, facilities and preparing pupils for the next step in secondary education.
